Associazione Genitori Scuola Di Donato: The AGSDD was created in 2003 by a group of parents from the school Di Donato, located in the Esquilino area of central Rome. Under the auspices of the Principal, these parents undertook the restoration of the school basement, which had remained unused and filled with discarded furniture and rubbish for years. The re-opening of this huge space has marked a meeting point for the different groups involved in the life of the school (children, teachers, parents, caretakers), and for various institutions, with the general aim of exploiting public properties for the sake of the community. Now the AGSDD counts more than one hundred members, who work voluntarily in order to manage and operate the basement, together with the two courtyards and the school gym, for sport and recreation activities, cultural meetings and many services for both young and adult participants outside of school hours. The fruits of this work are particularly significant in the context of the school’s location, in the heart of Rome’s most multiethnic area, nearby Piazza Vittorio. Since December 2004, the ASGDD is also head of the Polo Intermundia of the I Municipio. Through its persistent work, the Association has become a main reference point for public life in the Esquilino area, in association with other organizations, public and private bodies, projects, and institutions, united in their aim to build a child-friendly and inclusive city. Currently, the Association uses this space for many different activities and courses: a playroom and a supplementary lesson service in after-school time; kids’ birthday parties; dance, capoeira; soccer, cricket, basketball and mini-basketball courses; theatrical dramatization and music; Chinese and Arabic language and culture; Italian language for foreigners. All activities are free or at a minimum charge. Also parties, ceremonies and meetings of the foreign communities present in the area are hosted, as well as conferences on intercultural and educational themes, pedagogical exhibitions and shows. A team for psycho-pedagogical support and cultural and linguistic mediation is active for children and families. For the AGSDD this project will be a great occasion for exporting and opening its experience at international level, and to put itself to the test as coordinator. Making progress in parents/teachers relationship will be one of its main objectives.

Rete Educare all'Europa: The Rete was born in 2005 thanks to strong involvement of a group of school directors and teachers who wanted to start a process of Education to Europe inside schools and working for the implementation of International mobility and European programs.
Since 2006 the Rete is enhancing the improvement of Non Formal Education and Informal dimension in the learning process and pedagogic in order to create a bridge with Formal Education and to support school directors, teachers, educators, youth workers and students in their work and lifelong learning.
Thanks to the cooperation with the association Aim Giosef of Rome the Net is working for the implementation, valorization and recognition of Non-formal Education in Italy, especially focused on Inclusion and Key/Transversal Competences for the Life Long Learning. In the specific field of this project the Net wants to promote the values and principles of the European year of Volunteering involving as more as teachers, directors and learners as possible at national level. Furthermore, together with partners will implement an International research. With this project the Rete wants to:
- give to activities a national level and an added European dimension;
- assure an experienced know how with non formal education and involve youth trainers and facilitators together with experts and experienced teachers or directors who can give a strong support to contents and methodology;
- contribute to involve parents in the process of Lifelong Learning and Key competences recognition and valorisation;
- structure an international research project which analyze how relationships between parents and the world of school can be a key issue for understanding the environment of school, the dropout and the disadvantage;
- promote support measures to the didactic introducing transversal and experimental pathways linking formal-non formal-informal; - support the general reflection on the involvement of school in the local contexts where is based and the link “outside and inside” with its pro and contra, richness and weakness;
- be the point of reference for the parents association for the communication with European institutions and for the general information about Eu recommendations and information.

National Forum ALTERNATIVES PRACTICE INITIATIVES (NF API): NGO established in 2002 National Forum ALTERNATIVES PRACTICE INITIATIVES (NF API) initiates and organizes projects in the field of European Citizenship, Youth, and Human Rights Education in Bulgaria and abroad, promotes Bulgarian artists and stimulates the exchange of ideas and professional information. The purpose of National Forum is to enhance international understanding and friendship through educational, cultural and humanitarian activities involving the exchange of ideas and experiences directly among peoples of different countries and diverse cultures. NF API provides both, youth and adults, with an international quality educational, cultural and humanitarian programming with multiple opportunities to experience face-to-face contact among peoples. National Forum API is a pro-European non-governmental organization, which promotes the idea of the united Europe and its values, such as democracy, pluralism, tolerance and human rights. NFAPI, founded in September 2002, has 120 members and a long different project experience. Main activities of the organization are organizing regular meetings for its members, seminars, camps, lectures, discussions and street actions, Europe Week celebrations, encouraging young people to become active citizens of Bulgaria and European Union.

Agora: The Association of participants Àgora is a non-profit making organization of adults who do not have any academic degree and is dedicated to the non-formal training of lifelong learners, especially those who are socially excluded, i.e. people coming from scholastic failure, immigrant people, elder people, disabled people, etc. It was created in 1986 to cover the lack of educational and cultural services addressed to these collectives in the neighbourhood. Àgora provides a daily educational setting for about 1600 participants, more than 100 volunteers and nine hired staff. It offers a wide range of activities, including language learning, basic literacy, ICT training groups and dialogic literary circles among many other workshops. Àgora has an extensive opening time from 9am to 22pm and all activities are free-of-charge. The main goal of the association is to promote the educational and social participation of its learners based on democratic participation, opening all decision-making spaces to any participant of the organization. The education provided is also grounded on the dialogic learning methodology, which is learner centred and based on egalitarian dialogue, transformation and solidarity among other principles (Flecha, 2005). In addition to the educational purpose, Àgora aims to give voice especially to those who have been silenced until now, fostering and promoting their inclusion in all the fields of society.

MOSTart: The abbreviation of MOSTart NGO (M as ‘Művészet’ as ‘Art’ / O as ‘Oktatás’ as ‘Education’ / ST as ‘Studio’) reflects the most important aims and activities the association deals with. MOSTart NGO is a young international cultural and educational association developing in a dynamic way. Main aims in the field of art: (1) Helping communication among artists of different art fields (2) Promoting art activities and products, aspiring them to meet each other (global art conception) (3) Introducing young artists by organising international exhibitions, festivals, camps etc. (4) Promoting cultural heritage and innovate cultural adventures (5) Developing a new virtual channel including partners’ activities. Main aims in the field of education: (1) Acting as a crossing bridge between international schools, educational systems and other institutes or communities. (2) Working out high-levelled, up-to-date alternative teaching systems in cooperation with international partners (3) Improving conditions of young people by international cooperation, laying special emphasis on children with special needs. (4) Developing cultural and educational possibilities of local regions. Both spheres of aims are in close connection to youth promoting activities: (1) The organisation manages a Youth Cultural Centre in a disadvantageous city, dealing with cultural, democratic and mental health youth issues. The association operates a national “Giving a Chance” network programme for young persons with fewer opportunities, involving several educational institutes, civil organisations, enterprises and national professional experts. The association is declared as UNESCO member from  this year according to its results and effectiveness. Experts of the association have practical experiences in adult and children education, rather regarding to using, demonstrating and teaching alternative pedagogical approaches like project-based methodology, cooperative teaching methods, ICT-based content in teaching. The association was the legal ambassador of the eTwinning system in the Central-Hungarian Region in 2007-2008, and works as a multiplicator for educational institutes, adults and elder people in EU projects. It is also a professional adult learning provider with those methodologies mentioned above. The mission of the NGO is to reveal any kind of talents regardless to age, gender, social or financial circumstances, ethnical background or other type of discrimination.

Associação Máquina do Mundo: 

Associação Máquina do Mundo (AMM) is a NGO, dealing with cooperation and development issues, willing to contribute for: social inclusion; education and civil society empowerment; intercultural dialogue and the support of volunteering, entrepreneurship and micro credit. AMM has a very young and qualified team, defending the values of sustainability; European citizenship; interdisciplinary work; inclusion; cooperation; independence and transparency.
AMM works with:
• Cooperation for Development in the fields of environment, social integration, education and civil society empowerment;
• Humanitarian and medical aid;
• Migrants and ethnical minorities’ integration and also intercultural dialogue;
• The promotion of the Portuguese language and cultures;
• Support volunteering, entrepreneurship and microcredit.
Máquina do Mundo has a staff motivated to implement this kind of projects first due to their interests in World Cooperation and secondly to their personal and professional experience. Most of them have worked/volunteered in the cooperation field for other organizations.
